Hand-painted fabric: Hands-on design and technique workshop
Join artist and upholsterer Amy Otteson for a day of creative hands-on fun! The first half of your workshop will be spent learning about fabric design, painting techniques, and the best materials for home dec applications. In the afternoon, you’ll create your very own yard of truly custom fabric – what you then go do with it is up to you! Pillows? Accent chair? Art bench?? Your next great creation starts here. Class fee includes all painting supplies and one yard of appropriate upholstery-weight canvas. Dress for mess! Projects will be left out to dry and may be picked up at a later date. Traveling from out of town? We’ll be happy to discuss shipping your creation home.

Amy Otteson began painting fabrics and wallpapers over 30 years ago, through a small start-up called, “Appel Associates ” She later becoming part owner, working with local designers to create hand painted textiles, and marketing their products through Kravet Fabrics, New York. After becoming a mom, Amy shifted gears, working as an interior design and color consultant, a portrait artist and a public school art teacher. Known as, “The Queen of Color” among her friends, Amy is endlessly passionate about creative exploration – her energy is sure to encourage and inspire.
